Clubs & Activities
At Ernest Bevin Academy, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our extensive extra-curricular program is designed to develop students' skills, interests, and talents across a wide range of areas.
We encourage all students to participate in at least one club or activity each term. These opportunities help students build confidence, develop teamwork skills, make new friends, and discover new passions.

Sports
With our excellent sports facilities, including a sports hall, fitness suite, all-weather pitch, and cricket nets, we offer a comprehensive sports program throughout the year.
Our dedicated PE staff and coaches run training sessions before school, during lunch, and after school. We compete in local, regional, and national competitions across a range of sports.

Creative Arts

Enrichment Week & School Trips
Each summer term, we hold an Enrichment Week where normal lessons are suspended and students participate in a range of activities, trips, and challenges. This provides valuable opportunities for students to develop new skills and experiences outside their normal studies.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
We are proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. This internationally recognized qualification helps students develop resilience, teamwork, and independence through volunteering, physical activities, skills development, and expedition challenges.
Students can begin the Bronze Award in Year 9, progressing to Silver in Year 10 and Gold in the Sixth Form. The Award is highly valued by universities and employers as evidence of students' commitment and character.
Weekly Schedule
Clubs and activities run throughout the week, with most taking place after school (3:15pm - 4:30pm). Some activities also run before school and during lunch breaks.

How to Join
At the beginning of each term, we hold a Clubs Fair where students can learn about the different activities available and sign up. Most clubs welcome new members throughout the year.
To join a club or activity:
- Check the activities timetable on the student portal or notice boards
- Speak to the teacher in charge or your form tutor
- Complete any required permission forms (for trips or certain activities)
- Attend the club at the scheduled time
Some competitive teams and performance groups may require auditions or selection trials, but we aim to provide inclusive opportunities for all students, regardless of ability level.
