Our Safeguarding Commitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, governors, volunteers, and visitors to share this commitment. Our policies and procedures are in line with statutory requirements and best practice guidance.
We ensure that:
- All staff receive appropriate safeguarding and child protection training
- There is a culture of vigilance around safeguarding issues
- Students know who they can talk to if they have concerns
- We work closely with parents/carers and external agencies
- Rigorous safer recruitment procedures are in place
- The school environment is safe and secure
Key Safeguarding Areas
Child Protection
Our Child Protection Policy outlines the procedures we follow to safeguard children from abuse and neglect. We follow the guidance from the Department for Education (Keeping Children Safe in Education), Wandsworth Safeguarding Children Partnership, and United Learning.
Online Safety
We teach students how to stay safe online and have robust filtering and monitoring systems in place. Students are taught about online risks, including cyberbullying, online grooming, and inappropriate content.
Anti-Bullying
We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying in all its forms. Our Anti-Bullying Policy outlines how we prevent and respond to bullying incidents. Students are encouraged to report any concerns about bullying through various channels.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
We recognize the importance of promoting positive mental health and wellbeing among our students. We have a dedicated pastoral team and provide various support services, including counseling and access to external agencies.
The SHARP System
The School Help Advice Reporting Page (SHARP) System is a confidential online reporting tool that allows students to report any concerns they have about bullying, safety, wellbeing, or any other issues. Reports can be made anonymously.
